Our client, an architect-owner, acquired this De Beauvoir Town townhouse with a specific vision: strip it back entirely and rebuild the interior around a strict minimalist ethos. The existing interior was a mix of poorly executed 1980s and 1990s works with unevenly rendered walls, mismatched joinery, and a disorganised floor plan. The mandate was to restore the Victorian bones of the building while filling it with a contemporary, restrained interior language.
Working to minimalist specifications demands a different approach to site management. Tolerances are tighter. Tradespeople must coordinate more closely.
