The Home Improvement Company That Does It All

Improving a home usually means juggling specialists — a kitchen company here, a bathroom fitter there, a builder for the extension, an electrician for the rewire, an architect for the drawings — and somehow coordinating them all yourself, carrying the risk in every gap between them. A single home improvement company exists to take that burden away: one team, one contract, one point of accountability for whatever you want to improve, from a single room to the whole house.

This page is the home for our full range of home improvements — kitchens and bathrooms, extensions and conversions, renovations and refurbishments, structural work and services — delivered by one trusted London company. As a design-and-build contractor, we bring RIBA Chartered architects, MIStructE structural engineers, RICS surveying support and our own directly-employed trades under one roof, and deliver your project on a single fixed-price contract. There is no chasing between trades, no blame to referee, and no surprise bills — one company is responsible from the first idea to the last coat of paint.

Whether you are planning one improvement or several, the value of a single company is the same. The kitchen designer knows what the builder can deliver; the engineer knows what the trades will install; the estimator has priced a hundred similar projects nearby. So the work is designed to be built, coordinated to run smoothly, and priced to hold — the opposite of the fragmented, drift-prone experience that gives home improvement its reputation. And when something unexpected is found, there is one company to resolve it, because it is simply us.

We have improved 103+ homes across NW3, NW8, NW1, SW1, SW3, SW7, W1 and W11 — from a single bespoke kitchen to whole-house transformations — with particular depth in the period housing and conservation areas of north and central London. If you already know the specific improvement you want, the pages below go into detail; if you want one company to take care of everything, you are in the right place.

The hidden cost of doing it the usual way — a different firm for each part — is rarely the headline prices; it is the time, the stress and the risk that sit on you. You become the project manager whether you wanted to or not: scheduling the electrician around the plasterer, discovering the kitchen will not fit the opening the builder left, mediating when the tiler and the plumber each blame the other for the leak. Every handover between trades is a place for things to fall through, and when they do, the bill and the delay land on you, because no one party ever agreed to own the whole result. A single company removes all of that by design.

It is also the difference between improvements that age well and ones that quietly disappoint. When the same firm designs the work, engineers it and builds it, the decisions are joined up: the kitchen is designed around services that can actually be routed, the bathroom around drainage that genuinely falls the right way, the extension around a structure that has been calculated rather than assumed. Standards are consistent because the same directly-employed trades carry them from room to room. And the finish is held to one benchmark across the whole home, rather than varying with whichever sub-contractor happened to be cheapest that month.

None of this means a home improvement has to be a vast project. Plenty of our clients begin with a single room and come back, over the years, for the next — a kitchen, then a loft, then a bathroom — because the relationship is already there and the standard is known. Whether you want one improvement now or a plan for several over time, having one trusted company that knows your home is worth far more than a folder of unrelated quotes.

Below is the range of improvements we deliver, how we work, and why a single accountable company is the simplest and safest way to improve your home.

What One Company Brings to Every Improvement

The advantage of a single home improvement company is that all of this comes together under one roof and one contract. Here is what that includes.

Architectural Design

RIBA Chartered architects developing the design in-house, with 3D visualisation so you see the result before committing — not a separate practice that hands over and walks away.

Structural Engineering

MIStructE engineers for any steel, openings or strengthening, and the Building Control submissions — all in-house, so the structure and the build are never disconnected.

Planning & Approvals

Planning applications, Listed Building Consent, Lawful Development Certificates and Party Wall awards prepared and managed for you — the bureaucracy taken off your plate.

Fixed-Price Costing

The whole improvement priced as a single fixed sum before you commit — no open-ended cost-plus, no inflated provisional sums, no surprises mid-project.

Directly-Employed Trades

Our core carpenters, plumbers, electricians and decorators are PAYE staff — continuity and a standard we control, not the cheapest available sub-contractors.

Project Management

A dedicated project manager and weekly written progress reporting with photography — so you always know where things stand, on programme and on budget.

Certified Services

NICEIC-certified electrical work and Gas Safe registered plumbing and gas, self-certified and documented — not sub-let to an unknown trade.

Bespoke Joinery

Our joinery shop produces fitted wardrobes, kitchens, alcove cabinetry, panelling and doors — the bespoke detail that lifts a home improvement above standard.

Heritage Expertise

Deep experience with period and listed homes — lime plaster, sash restoration, cornice reproduction — and the consents to improve them lawfully.

Insurance & Warranty

£10M professional indemnity and public liability, a 12-month defects period and a 10-year insurance-backed workmanship warranty — protection well above the norm.

Concierge Aftercare

One free service visit at six months and a 24-hour line for live defects — the reason most of our clients return for their next improvement.

One Point of Contact

One company, one contract, one team you build a relationship with across one project or many — the simplest way to improve a home well.

Six Reasons to Use a Single Company

The case for one accountable home improvement company over a patchwork of separate trades comes down to six things.

i.

One Accountability

Design, engineering and build under one roof and one contract — so there is never a gap to fall into, and one company owns the whole result.

ii.

A Price That Holds

A single fixed price agreed before we start — you know the cost up front and are protected from the cost-plus drift that plagues fragmented projects.

iii.

No Coordination Burden

You do not project-manage a cast of separate trades — we do, with a dedicated manager and one programme that ties everything together.

iv.

Designed to Be Built

Because our designers and builders are the same firm, the work is designed to be delivered — not an elegant idea that unravels on site.

v.

One Standard

Directly-employed trades mean a consistent standard across every room and every improvement — not a different crew, and a different quality, each time.

vi.

Protected and Warranted

£10M insurance, full certification and a 10-year workmanship warranty across the whole project — one set of protections, not a patchwork.

One Improvement or the Whole House

However big or small your plans, the way to begin is the same — a conversation about what you want to achieve.

Some clients come to us with a single, defined improvement — a new kitchen, a bathroom, a loft — and some with a vaguer sense that the house no longer works for them and a wish to put it right. Both are the right starting point. A good home improvement company should be as comfortable delivering one beautifully resolved room as a whole-house transformation, and should help you work out which your home and your budget actually call for.

Often the most valuable thing we do at the first meeting is help you prioritise: which improvements will make the biggest difference to how you live, which are best done together to save cost and disruption, and which can wait. A kitchen and a knock-through are far cheaper done as one project than two; a rewire is best done while floors are up for other work; an extension and a loft together transform a house in a single programme. Sequencing improvements well can save a great deal of money and upheaval — advice you only get from a company that sees the whole picture.

To explore what we do, browse our portfolio and case studies, read our client reviews, or look at the specific service you have in mind. When you are ready, book a free consultation through the contact page, or use the cost calculator for an early budget. For whole-house work, our renovation and renovation company pages go into more detail.

Detailed Answers to the Questions That Matter

What home improvements do you carry out?

We carry out the full range of residential home improvements under one roof: kitchens and bathrooms, single and double-storey extensions, loft and cellar conversions, whole-house renovations and refurbishments, structural alterations and open-plan work, rewiring, plumbing and heating, bespoke joinery, flooring and decoration. Whether you want to improve a single room or transform the whole house, the same integrated team of architects, engineers and directly-employed trades delivers it on one fixed-price contract.

Do you do small jobs or only large projects?

We focus on substantial, design-led home improvements — a new kitchen or bathroom, an extension, a loft, a renovation — rather than odd-job handyman work, because that is where an integrated design-and-build company adds the most value. That said, a "small" job such as a single bathroom or a knock-through is still delivered to the same standard, with the same design input, certification and warranty. If you are unsure whether your project suits us, just ask — the consultation is free and we will tell you honestly.

How much do home improvements cost in London in 2026?

It depends entirely on the project. As a guide: a fitted kitchen runs from around £25,000, a bathroom from around £12,000, a loft conversion £40,000-£130,000, an extension from around £2,500-£3,500/sqm, and a whole-house renovation £500-£2,400+/sqm depending on specification. We give an honest outline band at the first consultation and a single fixed price before any work begins. Use the cost calculator for an early estimate, then we firm it up after a survey.

Why use one company for all my home improvements?

Because a single, accountable company removes the gaps, the coordination and the risk that come with hiring designers, trades and specialists separately. With us, the design, the structure, the services and the build all sit under one fixed-price contract with one point of contact — so the project is coordinated, the price holds, and there is one company responsible from the first idea to the final snag. It is also simply easier: one team, one programme, one set of certificates, one warranty.

Are you insured and certified?

Yes. We carry Professional Indemnity, Public Liability and Employers' Liability cover at £10M each, plus Contract Works insurance, all confirmed in writing before contract. Our electrical work is NICEIC-certified and self-certified under Part P, our gas work is Gas Safe registered, and we provide a 12-month defects period plus a 10-year insurance-backed workmanship warranty. RICS surveying support is available through our sister company. These are the credentials a homeowner should expect before letting any company work on their home.

Do you handle design, planning and building control?

Yes — all of it, in-house. Our RIBA Chartered architects design the work, our structural engineers produce the calculations and Building Control submissions, and we prepare and manage any planning application, Listed Building Consent or Lawful Development Certificate, plus Party Wall awards through our sister surveying company. Coordinating these under one roof is exactly why using a single design-and-build company is simpler than assembling the professionals yourself.

Do you work across London?

Yes — across prime London. Our studio is at 250 Finchley Road, NW3, and we work throughout NW3, NW8, NW1, NW11, W1, W8, W11, SW1, SW3, SW7, N1, N6 and the City, with a separate framework for projects further afield. We have particular depth in the period housing and conservation areas of north and central London, where heritage and planning expertise matters most.

How do you price your home improvements?

On a fixed-price basis. We resolve the design, structure, services and specification before we start, and price the whole project as a single fixed sum under a contract — so you know the cost before you commit, and you are protected from the open-ended bills of a cost-plus arrangement. We believe a home improvement company should carry the risk of its own pricing rather than passing it to the client, and our contracts include liquidated damages for late delivery.

How long do home improvements take?

It depends on the project: a bathroom is typically 2-4 weeks, a kitchen 12-20 weeks from design to finish, a loft conversion 6-16 weeks, an extension 12-24 weeks, and a whole-house renovation several months. We give you a clear week-by-week programme before work starts and report progress weekly throughout, with the design and approval stages run before site so the build phase is as efficient as possible.

How do I get started, and how do I get a quote?

Start with a free, no-obligation consultation — at our studio or your home — where we discuss what you want to achieve and your budget. For an early cost estimate you can use our online cost calculator. After a survey we produce a design and a single fixed-price quotation, with the exclusions clearly listed, so you can decide with full information. Just get in touch through the contact page or the enquiry form, and we will arrange a convenient time.
