Why manifestation is mandatory

Building Regulations Part K requires visual markings on large-area glazing so people don't walk into it. Standard requirement: two bands (or equivalent decorative markings) at 850–1000mm and 1400–1600mm heights.

Types

• Frosted vinyl film — standard, mid-grey opacity
• Gradient fade — frosted merging to clear
• Printed brand film — logos, patterns, text
• Etched glass — permanent, higher cost
• Back-lit dichroic films — premium aesthetic

Specification

• Compliance: BS 6206 for safety glazing where required
• Film longevity: 5–10 year commercial warranty
• Installation: overnight, minimal disruption
• Removal: peelable; some residue on curved or aged glass
