So we begin with the kitchen brief and let the architecture serve it — the drainage run for an island sink, the ducting route for extraction and the rooflight positions are all fixed on the drawings before any structural design starts. These are the calls we resolve first.

The regulatory load on a kitchen extension is heavily service-driven: new cooking extraction must discharge correctly under the ventilation rules, relocated sinks need compliant drainage falls, kitchen circuits are notifiable electrical work, and large glazed openings must satisfy energy standards — all inspected and certified through building control, which we manage. Ours are drawn by our in-house RIBA Chartered Architects with the cabinetry, structure and services on the same drawings, priced fixed on JCT terms, and built by teams we bring back project after project. RICS surveying support is available through our sister company where party wall or condition questions arise.
